The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will have microSD storage expansion and a larger battery capacity. The Galaxy S7 Edge is rumored to be released on February 21 at Samsung's Unpacked event.

Many Samsung fans expected the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge to ship with microSD card slots for expandable memory. However, Samsung decided not to include this feature to its 2015 flagships. Now, it seems that the company plans to bring back microSD storage expansion to the Galaxy S7 Edge as per Tech Times.

The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are said to be the ultimate phones to beat in 2016. Both smartphones are expected to have microSD slots that will give users up to 64GB expandable memory.

A new Samsung document for the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) revealed that the Galaxy S7 Edge will have a larger battery capacity. Independent reported that the smartphone may sport a 3,600 mAh battery, bigger than the 2,600 mAh cell found in the S6 Edge by 36.5%. The bigger battery will serve to power the larger 5.5" display of the Galaxy S7 Edge. This means that the S7 Edge will likely have a longer battery life compared to its predecessors. However, reports say that the S7 Edge battery cannot be replaced.

Previous rumors claimed that the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will be waterproof but the feature did not make it to the actual phones. Now, many believe that the Galaxy S7 Edge will be water-resistant and dustproof just like the earlier Galaxy S5.

Various leaked photos allegedly showing the Galaxy S7 Edge have surfaced online. Droid Life said that a new render reveals the S7 Edge rocking a silver body. The leaked image shows the premium design of the phone, complete with slight curves on the sides, top, and bottom.

A Samsung patent suggests that the Galaxy S7 Edge may have a feature called Always on Display. This option will enable the phone to show the time and notifications without being turned on. It will reportedly be able to work with minimum power. However, it is not sure whether the Always on Display feature will actually make it to the S7 Edge.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge may be unveiled at the Unpacked event on February 21. The devices are expected to hit market shelves on March 11.
