The much-awaited Xiaomi Mi 5 has been in the rumor mill for a while now. Recently, a leaked presentation has surfaced, revealing the Xiaomi's flagship handset specifications and features ahead of its launch at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016.
NDTV Gadgets stated on its article that the leaked image from the presentation has been posted on the Weibo site. Based on the photo, the front panel of the Xiaomi Mi 5 is seen with the screen turned on. Similar image also showed a screenshot presenting details of Mi 5's software capability.
When it comes to the design, the leaked image allegedly shows the much-speculated physical button on the front which was positioned right below the display. It can be remembered that previous reports have claimed that the Xiaomi Mi 5's physical home button below the display will incorporate the fingerprint scanner. If this is proven accurate, then the Mi 5 will be the first handset in Xiaomi's lineup to sport a physical home button and also the first flagship to be armed with the fingerprint recognition technology.
The images also show that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will sport a 5.2-inch full-HD screen. The upcoming device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, and will arrive in two storage and RAM variants - 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
The leaked presentation slides also indicated that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will have a USB Type-C port with Quick Charge 3.0 support. For the camera department, it will be armed with a 26-megapixel camera with f/1.6 lens and a dual LED flash. It will also sport an 8-megapixel front snapper for selfies and video chats.
When it comes with the battery capacity, International Business Times noted that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be powered by a 3,600 mAh capacity battery. Since the device has support for Quick Charging, this battery pack can juice up by 80 percent with just 34 minutes of charging.
Measuring 144.3 x 70.2 x 6.35mm, Xiaomi Mi 5 handset has support for NFC, WiFi 802.11ad, USB 3.0 and GPS.
While these information are from unconfirmed reports, it should only be taken with a grain of salt. Fans do not need to wait for a long time though as Xiaomi is bound to confirm everything about the Mi 5 two days from now. As noted before, the company the company has a February 24 in China as well as a limited media preview at MWC 2016 in Barcelona on the same day.
