Motorola Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Continues in India with Moto E (2nd Gen); Release Update in the US

By

Motorola continued rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its Moto E (2nd Gen) phones in India earlier today. The update is expected to cap off after a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, release in the United States has not been outlined until now.

Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) phones in India just got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow via official over-the-air (OTA) update. Expected to run for a week, Marshmallow release is up also to Moto E (2nd Gen) versions in Canada and Europe. Versions in the US have not been confirmed to get the update anytime soon, but there were reports already that it will come before March comes to an end.

Back in December 2015, Moto E (2nd Gen) was not included in the first list of Motorola devices up for Marshmallow update. Later on, the company announced its software support for the phone.

Motorola has already rolled out official OTA update to most of its devices, including Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X Play, Moto X Style, Moto G (3rd Gen) and a few 2014 phones. Obviously, the device manufacturer prioritized its 2015 devices before going over the older ones.

As reported by GSM Arena, more phones in different markets are expected to get the update soon so there is nothing to worry for device owners in US as the update should come in time.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Moto E (2nd Gen) is only 453.9 MB, almost half heavy in contrast to other companies having almost 1 GB of Marshmallow software. It comes with a security patch for February on top of Marshmallow's native features.

Some screenshots have appeared in the web showing a dose of what Marshmallow and Motorola have to offer. This includes Doze, direct share, app permissions, app link, Now on Tap, improved Android Pay, fingerprint support, and a lot more.
