'Doctor Strange' Updates: Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor suits up as the main antagonist; Why Anthony Mackie thinks its the best superhero movie of the year

There's a lot to be excited about Marvel's "Doctor Strange." For the most part, the movie boasts a stellar cast list, top billed by several Oscar nominees. Unlike most of the other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) where fans see a lot of rocket science, machines and brute force, the "Doctor Strange" movie will introduce us to magical elements and multi-dimensions.

As Marvel crafts a more diverse cinematic universe by representing different races and cultures, the company has tapped Chiwetel Ejiofor to play the main antagonist in "Doctor Strange." The Academy Award nominee will suit up as Baron Mordo, a Transylvanian noble how was taught magic by the Ancient One (played by Tilda Swinton). He is particularly adept in the dark arts and summoning demons. He is commonly associated as Doctor Strange's greatest nemesis.

"I think he's a fascinating character. Even in the original framework of that character," Chiwetel Ejiofor said about Baron Mordo. "And even within the kind of scope, technical and visual scale of the Marvel Universe, I think this is really something unique as well. So, I'm excited for people to see it."

Even Anthony Mackie, who portrays Falcon, is also hyped up about Marvel's "Doctor Strange" movie.

"Doctor Strange, just from the artwork that I have seen, it's gonna be so different, so far out and so creatively stimulating that's going to blow everything out of the water," Mackie dished out, as quoted by Comic Book.

And why wouldn't they be stoked when Doctor Strange himself a.k.a Benedict Cumberbatch has disclosed that there will be "all sorts of craziness" in the movie that it's all "rough and tumble."

Ejiofor went on to reveal that Marvel is set to introduce a lot of new and unique characters to bump up the diversity of the MCU narratives. He also expressed a certain interest and excitement about Ryan Coogler's "Black Panther."

"Doctor Strange" is directed by Scott Derickson and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton and Benedict Wong.

The "Doctor Strange" movie release date is scheduled on Nov. 4.
