Marvel's Star Lord will definitely be back on the big screen along with new faces as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 just released information regarding its expanded cast. Also, its production team started filming this February.
2014's Guardians of the Galaxy cast was already impressive enough, but Marvel sure wants to keep the fans entertained with a list of addition to the sequel. According to Collider, new faces will be joining the Guardians of the Galaxy to get a taste of space adventure and fun.
Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, and Kurt Russell will be featured in the upcoming film. However, the characters they'll be playing are yet to be revealed by the studio. Nonetheless, rumors indicate that Kurt Russell will have a vital role in playing as Quill's father in the sequel.
On the other hand, production has started for the film to make its way on 2017 release, as reported by Bay News 9. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 production has officially begun at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta. The cast and crew were held up there for atleast a week before the announcement of Marvel and Disney.
James Gunn is returning as the director of the film with the band consisting of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel in their respective characters.
Hollywood Reporter also wrote that a teaser poster has been revealed following the announcement that filming has started. A teaser poster was released but is somewhat vaguely revealing the details. The poster features the squad in their silhouettes which fans speculated that there may be a new idea about their possible costumes. Moreover, it is notable that Groot is sitting on the shoulder of Drax the Destroyer, hinting that Groot is back but in minute stature.
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 is the sequel to the 2014's superhero film of the same name. James Gunn would be returning as the director of the anticipated film and plot rumors indicate that it would centered on Peter Quill's parentage.
