After series of ups and downs for the possibility of Stephen King's The Dark Tower, the studio has confirmed it with their casting of Idris Elba last month. Now, Sony's adding another notable actress from the 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road to opposite Roland Deschain.

Sony is doing its best to give the audience the best taste they're looking for in the upcoming film, The Dark Tower. According to Entertainment Weekly, Abbey Lee, from Gods of Egypt and Mad Max: Fury Road, will be featured on the 2017 Stephen King film. Her role would be specifically be Tirana as the opposite of Idris Elba's Roland Deschain. So far, Lee, Elba and Matthew McConaughey are the revealed actors set to play in The Dark Tower.

According to Deadline, Abbey Lee's character is Tirana which was described as sexy and dangerous. The character's qualities also differs as she has fake human skin and cold snake-like eyes. However, readers of the books are confused as to why would Tirana be featured at the first film since she won't come out until the seventh volume of the book series. Therefore, readers hinted that Abbey Lee isn't a major character in the anticipated film.

Nonetheless, Slash Film talked about the possibility of Abbey Lee's casting as another character yet to be named. One thing they considered is that Tirana would be a name change or a different version of key character such as Susan or Susannah. But they added that Susannah is the female lead that appeared only until the second book and she's a black character, thus, discussed the possibility of just a mix-up.

The Dark Tower is the upcoming film based from the book series authored by Stephen King. The plot involves a gunslinger, will be fulfilled by Idris Elba, and his quest toward a tower to prevent annihilation. The Dark Tower is helmed by Nikolaj Arcel and film is set to hit theaters on January 13, 2017.
