Apple to introduce Energous wireless charging technology to its iPhone 7

By

It was reported months ago that Apple is looking into adding a few state of the art tweaks into the new iPhone 7. This technology is its wireless charging feature that enables the device to be charged from a significant distance without the help of any cables.

Apple has partnered with the company Energous. The company's technology will allow any type of device to be charged wirelessly to a distance of 15 feet, as reported by Business Technology.

According to IB Times, Energous will use a tiny chip called the WattUp chip for the wireless charging. Because of its tiny size, it will fit the iPhone perfectly. This chip can also be added to any smart watch, laptop or tablets.

The device will receive power from a transmitter. As long as the device is within the range of the charging beacon, the transmitter will be able to charge it. Energous is looking at the idea of releasing this technology by 2016 or 2017, A perfect time for the release of the new iPhone 7 in September or the iPhone 7S next year, according to The Week.

Energous is the first to introduce this type of technology, and Apple taking the steps to partner with it and integrate it in their Apple iPhone 7 is very possible. If this rumor is true, it could be dubbed as the biggest technology and advancements in the smartphone industry. This technology will allow iPhone users to be less pro-active in charging their phones.

For the past products of Apple, they have been slightly using the wireless charging technology in the likes of the Apple watch but they have not fully integrate it on their iPhone lineup. It will be considered revolutionary as Apple will be the first to take on this new feature. It is Apple;s way of showing its competition that they are still ahead and will always be the pinnacle of smartphone technology.
