Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update For Moto G (2nd Gen) Now Rolling Out in India [How To Install]

By

Motorola has released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to a handful of its devices including the Moto G (3rd Gen). Recently, the American multinational company has started seeding the firmware to its Moto G (2nd Gen.) devices in India.

The Over-the-Air (OTA) Marshmallow update is now being rolled out and is expected to be accessible for both 3G and LTE-versions of the Moto G (2nd Gen.) handset. Gospel Herald stated that Motorola Moto (Gen 2) owners can manually check their smartphones to know if Android 6.0 Marshmallow is already available for them. They just have to go to About Phone then System Updates.

To have a successful installation, the company advises users to charge their Moto G smartphones for at least 50% and connect to a stable Wi-Fi network. Should the notification for the Android Marshmallow land their devices, they just have to choose "Yes, I'm in". After the update is downloaded, they have to select the installation option. Once done, their smartphones will automatically restart already running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

When it comes to the new features and enhancements, Neurogadget reported that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will bring the newest Google Now on Tap and Doze mode. These new features are meant to enhance the user experience on the Moto G (2nd Gen.) smartphone. If users think they missed it all when Android 5.1 Lollipop never made it to the Moto G (2014) model, all of the improvements, tweaks and new features introduced on this operating system will now be visible to them.

As a refresher, Moto G (2nd Gen) sports a 5-inch HD screen with front-facing speakers, microSD card support and 8MeP rear-facing camera. Powered by a 2,070mAh battery, Times of India noted it is engineered with a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM.

Now that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is rolling out to Moto G (2nd Gen) devices in India, other regions may also receive it in no time.
