The Xbox Two could be released in 2019 while the PlayStation 5 is expected to arrive in 2020. Both consoles may feature GTA 6, the sequel to the popular video game that has been delayed as Rockstar North president leaves the company.
Microsoft could release the Xbox Two a year earlier than the Sony PS5, said Vine Report. Xbox fans could expect a 2019 launch for the Xbox Two. Phil Spencer, head of Xbox at Microsoft, confirmed that the company will be launching a successor to the Xbox One since most of their loyal patrons are Xbox customers.
On the other hand, Sony is expected to unveil the PS5 in 2020 if it follows its typical 6-year release schedule for a new console. Unlike Sony, Microsoft's Xbox releases are not consistent. The company released the Xbox 360 4 years after Xbox and the Xbox One after 8 years.
The next-generation video game consoles are rumored to have 4K resolution, virtual reality, backward compatibility, and online game streaming and downloading. This suggests that the Xbox Two and the PS5 might become disc-less gaming platforms as they would no longer require hard disk drives. Lawyer Herald reported that the two gaming consoles could be equipped with 5x faster processors.
Both consoles are also expected to feature the sequel to the popular Grand Theft Auto series video game. GTA 6 is set to have a female protagonist, a new storyline, improved graphics and features, and a bigger map covering the whole US landscape.
The release of GTA 6 could be delayed as Rockstar North's president Leslie Benzies leaves the company. Ecumenical News reported that Benzies' leave might cause GTA 6 to be released only after the Xbox Two and PS5 are launched.
It is said that there will be special effects added to GTA 6, in the form of natural calamities like typhoons, earthquakes, and tsunamis. Players can explore the vast landscape with a new rumored teleportation feature.
