Apple is said to be developing wireless charging technology for the upcoming iPhone 7 in 2017. Rumors say the iPhone 7 will have three versions, a dual-camera set-up, and waterproof ability.
The next iPhone might not require a power charging cord. The Source reported that Apple will release a wireless-charging iPhone 7 in 2017. Apple is reportedly developing a wireless charging technology that can be used for both iPhones and iPads.
This feature may allow users to charge their iPhones further away from power sources. The wireless charging technology will also reportedly increase the charging speed of the new iPhone. It will not require the use of charging cables or mats.
However, there are reports claiming that wireless charging may not arrive to the iPhone 7 if Apple will follow its usual product unveiling schedule. Apple typically announces its new iPhones and gadgets at a September event every year. If the iPhone 7 is slated to be released on September 2016, it might not be equipped with wireless charging as per Alphr. Instead, the technology could be available in the upgraded iPhone 7, the iPhone 7s, which is expected for a 2017 release.
Various speculations surround the upcoming iPhone 7 in the rumor mill. First, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone 7 will have an upgraded camera and the iPhone 7 Plus will have a new dual-camera at the back. Apple reportedly used the multi-camera technology from Linx.
Second, the iPhone 7 could be released in 3 variants. The third version could be called the iPhone 7 Pro and might integrate the rumored dual-camera set-up.
Lawyer Herald said that reports suggesting that Apple will add Li-Fi technology to the next iPhone are likely not true. Although there were references to Li-Fi spotted in the iOS 9.1 code library, the technology is still in its early stages and is not yet practical for public use. The code references to Li-Fi may only mean that Apple is exploring the technology for future use.
Additionally, recent Apple patents suggest that the next iPhone will be waterproof. There are also strong speculations that the iPhone 7 will do away with the 3.5mm headphone jack and home button.
The estimated release of the iPhone 7 is on the big Apple September 2016 event. It is expected to launch alongside the Apple Watch 2.
