A lot of rumors and speculations about the GoPro Hero 5 have surfaced online, but the company is still tight-lipped about its details. However, GoPro CEO Nick Woodman finally broke the silence as he recently called the upcoming member of the Hero family the most connected and convenient sports camera.
According to Christian Post, GoPro has decided to reduce its product line-up and focus on its newer action cameras after the company has experienced a share price slump in 2015. The trimmed line-up will include the Hero 4 Session, Silver, Black, and the upcoming GoPro Hero 5.
Recently, the company's CEO Nick Woodman revealed a few important details on their next product. He announced that GoPro Inc. is now ready to usher in the much awaited Hero 5 later this year. Additionally, it was also reported that the company will permanently shelf the entry-level GoPro Hero line starting April.
Master Herald added that GoPro has made some interesting claims about the upcoming Hero 5. According to the company this action camera will be the most connected and convenient GoPro ever made.The hardware of the device is not the only thing that's going to change, as GoPro is also said to be developing a new software suite for editing videos captured by the device.
For some time, GoPro has been doing its best to come up with a way to make video editing easier to cater, as requested by the customers. With this, Woodman stated that the upcoming sports camera will give users a whole new experience because they will be able to edit extremely high quality videos in just a few minutes.
Apart from that, previous reports claimed that the GoPro Hero 5 might be armed with the Ambarella H1 System on Chip that will enable users to record videos using 4k resolution at 60 frames per second. It was noted that GoPro Hero 4 Black functions at the same resolution, but the upcoming action camera will have a higher speed. The GoPro Hero 5 is also believed to have an improved 2.7k performance as well as higher frame rates for 1080p video capturing. Lastly, the upcoming member of the Hero family is also predicted to be able to film at a depth of 60 meters, a mile higher from Hero 4's 20-meter capacity.
The company is expected to have the low-end section of their GoPro line trimmed down before GoPro Hero 5 arrives some point later during the year. However, an exact date hasn't been confirmed yet.
