By

The much awaited GoPro Hero 5 has been all over the wire due to some rumors about its launch date. Recently, the Karma Drone has made its appearance on the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 hinting the release date of the newest member of the Hero family.

According to Christian Today, most of the company investors are expecting that GoPro will officially launch the Karma drone this week. This might happen during the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. While GoPro has yet to confirm it, there are reports stating that it might be possible, given that this year's CES is concentrated on the developing virtual reality trend. The Karma drone would be a right fit for the event as it is formerly speculated to be able to feature a 360-degree camera set-up to capture virtual reality videos and images.

Furthermore, Gospel Herald stated on its article that GoPro plans on creating all future devices smaller and lighter to enhance portability and user-friendliness. Hence, the upcoming device will weigh just over half a pound, and will be submissive with the rules and regulations of the FAA.

There are also reports stating that the GoPro Hero 5 features drone compatibility. This might turn out to be true, since the company has been working on drones for quite some time now.

GoPro has also been busy working on enhancing the waterproofing ability of its range of action cameras. The company is reportedly planning to make developments on the Hero 5, specifically its capability of filming underwater. In fact, it already made changes to its upcoming device as the new Hero camera can go to the depths of 60 meters underwater, making it remarkable achievement for GoPro.

GoPro is also rumored to have plans on filming 8K videos with the Hero 5, which is a benchmark in the class of video recording. The 8K videos are expected to become a part of the cinematic culture in the longer run and GoPro is expected to be the pioneer in this matter.

It will feature a dual-lens setup, capable of filming 3D images and video. 3D photography and videography were noted to have made it to the limelight in 2015. Nevertheless, this technology did not get as much hype as initially expected.

Crossmap added that the GoPro Hero 5 can be used in land, air and water. This is going to be the first Navy-Seal-like camera, which is making buyers excited for its launch.

GoPro Hero 5's price range could run between $450 and $550. This could be a reasonable price if all the reported enhancements are proven to be true.
