The Xbox Two and PlayStation 5 may launch in 2019 with virtual reality and 4K resolution on board. Rumors say that the much-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI game will arrive at the upcoming PS5.

Microsoft and Sony's next-generation game consoles might arrive as early as 2019 on the market. Crossmap reported that the Xbox Two might be released on 2019, along with the PS5. Some have hinted that Sony is already working on production of the PS5.

According to former Xbox chief officer Robbie Bach, the upcoming gaming machines will be much more different than the current models. As per Lawyer Herald, it is possible that the Xbox Two and the PS5 will arrive as virtual reality devices with 4K display resolution. Since augmented reality gaming continues to gain popularity, Sony and Microsoft might equip their next consoles with VR support.

Another change that could be coming to the PS5 is the removal of hard disk drives. Sony could be pushing for a disc-less gaming platform as technology advances and streaming becomes the trend nowadays. This means that the PS5 can be used for downloading and streaming game titles. The next PlayStation could sport a thinner and sleeker build that may rival the Apple iPad's portability.

There are speculations that AMD will be making hardware that supports VR and complete backward compatibility for the Xbox Two and PS5. Backward compatibility will allow Xbox One and Ps4 game titles to be played on the upcoming consoles. AMD is also reportedly working on a new type of processor that will improve performance 5 times more than the current consoles which are using AMD chips built on Jaguar microarchitecture.

As for game titles, Vine Report said that the sequel to the popular Grand Theft Auto series will make its way to the PS5. GTA VI is set to arrive on Sony's upcoming console, complete with improved graphics, features, and storyline. The game will feature a female protagonist to be voiced by Hollywood star Eva Mendes.

Some speculate that the game will have a bigger map covering the entire United States. Gamers may be able to use a teleportation feature to explore the immense landscape. There are also rumors that natural disasters such as typhoons, tsunamis, and earthquakes will occur in the game to add excitement.

The Xbox Two and the PS5 are said to be the last gaming consoles of their kind. It is said that VR devices will dominate the next era of gaming.
