The MacBook Pro 2016 could have guested in a CBS segment, reported Youth Health Magazine. The segment '60 minutes' showed a sneak peek of Jony Ive's design studio where a laptop, believed to be the MacBook Pro 2016 prototype, was seen. The laptop sported a sleek and seemingly lighter design compared to the existing MacBook Pro line.
Since 2015, rumors on the MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016 have been emerging online. The most recent rumors on the MacBook Pro 2016 indicate that it could run on the newest Intel Skylake processors. The current MacBook line houses 14nm Broadwell-Y Core M processors which have average performance.
It is believed that Apple will equip the MacBook Pro 2016 and the MacBook Air 2016 with the 14nm core m5/m7 chips. Other users say that A10X processors will be used in the new MacBooks.
An Apple patent related to solar power was recently spotted according to Parent Herald. The patent suggests that Apple could be producing solar-powered MacBook Pro and MacBook Air for 2016. It is also speculated that a 12" display version will be added to the MacBook Air 2016 line besides the 13" and 15".
Aside from that, there are reports from the rumor mill saying that Apple will provide better battery and security features in the MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016. The Bitbag reported that the upcoming MacBook Air 2016 will have a Touch ID feature in its trackpad. It is also expected to have a biometric scanning feature for transactions using Apple Pay.
Other features rumored of the MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016 are a headphone jack, USB-Type C port, HDMI and VGA support, USB 3.1, and DisplayPort 1.2.
There is still no release date available for the MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016. Many expect that the new MacBooks will be launched together with the iPhone 6c, Apple Watch 2, and iPad 3. The announcement of the new MacBooks could be held in the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
