Sony has just released the beta version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Xperia Z5 phones. The release of Sony's Marshmallow concept to this device strengthened speculations that Xperia Z5 might be receiving the official upgrade in February.
Sony Xperia Z5 phones are slowly getting its way to the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, as the concept of the Japanese giant for the software has started rolling out to the device. Although Sony still has March to release the upgrade in line with its promise to deliver it by the first quarter of the year, the company seems to be making an early release this month, as reported.
The flagship device of Sony for 2015 is seen to be a cork in a bottle neck. According to previous reports, the company will not be releasing soon enough the official Marshmallow upgrade to other devices before Xperia Z5's. If the reports were true, many Xperia owners would go upset over the news.
Meanwhile, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact will most likely get the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow update first, as they were used at the outset of the Marshmallow concept's release. However, there are no exact timeline as of now.
Last January, it was already reported that there is an imminent delay in the official release of Android 6.0 to Sony's phones following critical bugs have been found during a test. Nevertheless, Sony stood firm that it is releasing the biggest and most refined Android update in history to its devices as soon as it can.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come out with a fingerprint support, improved Android Pay, overhauled app drawer, power-saver called Doze and Now on Tap, among many others.
Fingerprint support will give phones support for fingerprint scanning devices which functions to confirm purchase and unlock phone, while Android Pay expands to more mobile payment methods like American Express, Visa, Master Card, and Discover.
