Samsung has released the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow beta update to Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge phones in more markets across the globe. The latest country where the latest update has arrived is South Korea.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge units in South Korea began getting the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update over the weekend. According to reports, a considerable number of phone owners have already registered to the beta test.
This way, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge phone owners will have to sign up to test the Marshmallow via beta version. Qualified beta testers will also be able to report to Samsung errors and make suggestions for the build to become more user-friendly and functional.
Per screenshots revealing the interface circulating online, it is safe to say that Samsung is up for a good and serious makeup to its consumers. The company brings changes to the notification menu and power menu, a new look to the TouchWiz, plus fingerprint support for third party apps.
While the mobile tech brand remains a stiff competition these days, Samsung is up on its chin by bringing notable features with Marshmallow aside from the native ones.
Meanwhile, a report from Sam Mobile stated that Marshmallow beta will also be up for Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 phones in a bit. Samsung however has not announced anything yet if it is going to release Marshmallow beta to other markets like Poland.
Galaxy S6 units tested in South Korean has model number SM - G920S while Galaxy S6 Edge units have model number SM - G925S. Both units are under SK Telecom.
Beta version of Marshmallow had been released first to Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge units in the United States late last month.
Official update is expected to come this month, a movement unexpected since it was already announced for a January release. In January, a Dutch consumer group announced to file a lawsuit against Samsung for overdue updates.
