He said, "There's a script, it's brilliant. Obviously there's only so much I can say but what I can say is that we shot [the first] one all in the U.K., that won't be the case with the next one... It's a far more international story, we're going to some incredible places."

Vaughn's 2014 live-action adaptation of the comic book of the same name earned critical praise as well as commercial success. It opened in the United Kingdom on January 29, 2015 and in the United States on February 13, 2015. It grossed a total of $414 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

In the first film, Egerton played Gary "Eggsy" Unwin, an young miscreant recruited unwittingly into secret intelligence agency. Colin Firth played his mentor Galahad while Mark Strong and Michael Caine starred as Kingsman spies Merlin and Arthur, respectively. Samuel L. Jackson portrayed the main villain Valentine.

According to /Film, only Egerton had been confirmed as a returning cast member as of the present. It remains unknown whether Strong will re-join him for a second time.

The 26-year old Welsh actor broke through the movie industry in his role as Edward Brittain in 2014's biographical drama film 'Testament of Youth' where he was nominated for an award for London Film Festival for British Newcomer. He went on to star in 'Kingsman' as well as 'Legend' and is posed for three new films for 2016 including 'Eddie the Eagle', 'Sing' and 'Billionaire Boys Club'.

Previous reports speculated that 'Kingsman: The Secret Service 2' will take the story to America. According to Cinema Blend, Vaughn was asked whether he would consider the possibility of having American agents for a new film. He replied, "All I can say is that you'll find out in two years in the sequel. I'm not going to give it away now. So stay tuned."

'Kingsman: The Secret Service 2' is a planned sequel to the action-spy adventure franchise. It is scheduled to be released sometime in 2017 and will be directed by Matthew Vaughn. It will feature the return of Taron Egerton as young spy recruit Eggsy Unwin.
