The Samsung Galaxy S6 series has been a huge success for the South Korean tech company. With this, its fans are already anticipating the arrival of its successor-- the Samsung Galaxy S7. The handset is expected to debut at the MWC 2016 sporting Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.

According to PC Advisor, Samsung Electronics has a habit of announcing its upcoming smartphone very close to MWC. The event that is focused more on smartphones and tablets will run from February 22 to 25 in Barcelona.

The South Korean tech giant usually holds a press conference on the Sunday prior to the event when it announces its latest Galaxy S-series flagship. This time, it would probably fall on February 21st. It is also been reported that the Samsung handset will be available to pre-order between February 21 and March 2, it will go on sale between March 4 and 17.

BGR noted that Samsung's upcoming handset has already been spotted in AnTutu benchmarks. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is one again seen on Geekbench, showing a near-complete picture of the handset. With this, it is expected to go head-to-head with Apple's upcoming new iPhone 7 line-up which is set to arrive later this year.

This isn't the first time Geekbench has given details about the Galaxy S7. Former listing showed specs for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 version. However, the new benchmark result has surfaced showing the Exynos 8890 version of the handset.

Based on the newest benchmark result, the Galaxy S7 (SM-G930W8) will be sporting a 4 GB RAM, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and a 5.1-inch display with 2560 x 1440 Quad HD resolution. Camera wise, it will be armed with a 12-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy S7 is also speculated to have a microSD support and a larger battery than its predecessor. There are some talks claiming that the phone will copy some of the iPhone 6s's signature features as well like the 3D Touch gestures and Live Photos.

Additionally, TechnoBuffalo said on its article that the new upcoming Samsung flagship handset could be offered in at least three different models. The flagship Galaxy S7 is expected to be joined by a curved Galaxy S7 edge and a phablet-sized Galaxy S7 edge Plus.

Although it is not yet confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be announced before the MWC 2016, this is most likely to happen if the South Korean tech will follow its previous tradition. Additionally, it would be the first handset to be released running on Android 6.0.1 OS.
