Movies come and go but if you're looking for a really solid film, there is a number that make up the list. When it comes to these movies, Universal's Fast & Furious franchise has definitely proven itself time and time again.

Even with the untimely death of one of its main characters, it continues to be a big movie. With all the success it's had, Universal is not letting this franchise end anytime soon. As a matter of fact, they are already working on Fast & Furious 8 which is set to open in theaters on April 14, 2017. It still is a long way but it's worth the wait.

Many are already anticipating the new storyline and the characters that will be returning for the 8th movie. According to rumors, Eva Mendes will be returning for her role on the Fast & Furious 8 as Monica Fuentes. But apart from this movie, there are some clues showing that Mendes could possibly be starring in her own Fast & Furious spinoff movie for her character. The source of this rumor is none other than director F. Gary Gray and Mendes' co-actor, Vin Diesel. Based on the reports, the two men first want to see how the fans of the franchise will respond to Mendes' character. From there, they can determine whether or not her character has a potential for a spinoff movie.

Months ago, Diesel teased of a possibility of the series branching out with different story lines for each characters. As he shares it, the idea has been around for a long time and they're committed to doing it with class. Aside from Mendes, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's character on the franchise, Luke Hobbs, could also be getting a spinoff. With his portrayal of the role in the last few films, it's already gotten people interested in knowing more about Hobbs and his character.

Hopefully, Mendes' character becomes a crowd favorite on Fast & Furious 8 so the producers will be interested in making a spinoff movie for her.
