'Fast and Furious 8' Update: Upcoming sequel confirmed cast uncovered; Film will take the storyline to New York City

Fast and Furious 8, the sequel to the successful action franchise series, confirmed its expanded cast that will be featured for the 2017 release. Moreover, the franchise will take its 8th instalment to the streets of New York City.

After confirmation of Vin Diesel, playing Dominic Toretto, about the sequel to the hype film Fast 7, news regarding the cast also surfaced. As reported by Crossmap, much of the previous films actors are going to return for the film. Some of the confirmed are Dwayne Johnson saying that he'd like to see his character Luke Hobbs into even having his own independent adventures, besides him are Vin Diesel and Jason Statham who will reprise their roles. Furthermore, Michelle Rodrigues and Lucas Black, from Tokyo Drift, are being casted on the next movie. Lastly, Kurt Russell, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris are going to be back for their supporting roles in the anticipated action crime film.

However, news didn't stop in revealing the possible additional characters to the film. According to ChristianPost, rumors about the involvement of the Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone have emerged stating that she might bag a female role which would be a member of the spectacular gang. It should be noted that she is also a co-actor of Vin Diesel in the sequel of his movie "XXX" and the latter is known to cast his costars in other films. Next to the rumors is the English actress, Hellen Mirren. She is in the film "The Last Witch Hunter", also with Vin Diesel and the rumors sparked when the fans acknowledged that she might be a good fit. But nonetheless, there are still no confirmations about the involvement of these actresses.

Lastly, after taking the franchise around the world, the 8th film's next stop is the streets of New York City. This was confirmed by the franchise producer, Vin Diesel, in the interview with Jimmy Fallon last October as reported by Christian Today. The producer also said that the first film is really based from drag racers from New York but managed to change the locale to Los Angeles. He also added that there is the likelihood of a trilogy.

The Fast and Furious 8 is the upcoming sequel to stunning crime action film series that started in 2001. The main characters of the film are going to be returning for their roles while rumors regarding the addition of new members for the anticipated film haven't receive any confirmation yet.
