The movie Passengers made a lot of changes in recent months, but everything seems to be in the right place now as Jennifer Lawrence and Christ Pratt finally landed the lead role for the film. The film is about a single passenger who accidentally woke up 90 years earlier than other thousands of passengers boarding a spacecraft.
According to The Telegraph, Universal Studio volunteered to make the movie, and Emily Blunt and Keanu Reeves were supposed to play the leading roles as Aurora and Jim. The studio also agreed to make Keanu Reeves a producer, but the proposal was cancelled and Universal Studio left the project.
Passenger's plot is based on a book of the same title. A third passenger involved in the film will play a critical role. Realty Today reported that the third passenger will be played by Michael Sheen.
There has been a great deal of changes made as the films advances. However, Entertainment Online reported that the storyline remains the same, which reads as follows:
"A spacecraft is transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet that has a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers. As a result, a single passenger is awakened 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he eventually decides to wake up a second passenger."
Lawrence will be paid $20 million for the film, alongside a 30 percent once it earns back the original investment while Chris Pratt is getting only $12 million. The anticipated spending plan for the movie is yet to be announced, all in all, Passengers will be a notable blockbuster-sort film. The newest science fiction film will be directed by Imitation Game director Morten Tyldum.
Fans all over the world are hoping to be treated with a great script, set, and visual plans. The film will hit the cinemas this 2016. What do you think of Pratt and Lawrence replacing Reeves and Blunt? Will Passengers be as great as what the studio say?
