Fans got their first look at the latest Star Trek Beyond trailer last few weeks ago and the reviews have been very good so far. While no one knows when will be the release date of the second trailer, a new behind-the-scenes video was released on the internet. Featuring the cast and crew of Star Trek Beyond, Entertainment Tonight released the new behind-the-scenes video. If fans can remember, franchise superstar Chris Pine announced that Star Trek beyond will honor the Star Trek's past, including the recent passing of Leonard Nimoy. And it was obvious in the latest Star Trek Beyond video that the crew was paying their respects to the late actor.
Chris Pine, who's been a fan of the franchise said that Leonard Nimoy was a very 'special special' man. The actor believes that Nimoy's spirit has infused in this incarnation from the beginning, even from the first film. He said the team misses him dearly and all of them wished he could be part of Star Trek Beyond.
Screen Rant reported that the new behind-the-scenes video also shows a retro look of the Enterprise's crew members. Urban appeared to look like a character from the 60's version of Star Trek. Fans will also notice the classic Starfleet insignia on his left breast.
John Cho (Hikaru Sulu) also teased fans by showing the picture of his young child. John Cho said, "There is another revelation that you'll find out in regards to this baby, but you'll have to wait to see the movie," Movie Web reported.
Casting of Star Trek Beyond includes Joe Taslim, Sofia Boutella, Lydia Wilson, Karl Urban, Idris Elba, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, and Chris Pine. Justin Lin will be directing Star Trek Beyond and will be produced by J.J Abrams, Justin Lin himself, and Robert Orci.
Although Star Trek Beyond will not feature William Shatner, the new film still promises a lot of new adventure and a deep sense of nostalgia. Star Trek Beyond hits the theater on July 15.
