History Channel has recently added 4 episodes to the series where they initially ordered for 16 episodes only. Also, how season 4 will pick up from where season 3 has left off has been discussed.

Josh Donaldson officially signs up to guest star in the 4th season of the MIchael Hirst-created series. According to IB Times, the Toronto Blue Jays' third baseman will be portraying the character of Hoskuld, a Nordic warrior. His character is slated to make a cameo appearance in the first episode of the upcoming installment.

In more news, History Channel has officially added 4 more episodes to its initial 16 episodic order for the 4th installment of "Vikings". The series will premiere on February 18, 2016 and will release a new episode every Thursday and will last for 10 weeks. The show will be having a brief hiatus and the remaining episodes will air later in that year as reported by AE Network.

As for some season 4 spoilers, Cross Map notes, "Season 3 culminated with the extraordinary battle in Paris where Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) seized victory from the jaws of defeat but still returns to Kattegat dangerously ill. Thoughts of his death galvanize the forces who seek to succeed him as king including his wife Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) and his oldest son, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig).

Meanwhile, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) continues power struggles with her calculating, former second in command, Kalf (Ben Robson); Rollo (Clive Standen) betrays his Vikings heritage by remaining in Frankia and Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) is seized for his brutal actions to the Christian priest Athelstan."

"Vikings" Season 4 is slated to premiere on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. exclusively on History Channel. "Vikings" is an Irish-Canadian historical drama TV series written and created by Michael Hirst.
