Microsoft Corporation and the Apple Inc. might be associates in the tech arena but the two have always been rivals as well. Just recently, the American multi-national tech company has mocked the freshly unveiled iPad Pro stating that it is just a companion device.
The Indian Express reported that Microsoft is one of the preliminary partners during the Apple iPad Pro launch. The American tech company took to the stage together with Apple's Phil Schiller to demonstrate its Office productivity tool undermining the fact that iPad Pro is a direct rival the company's Surface Pro range of devices.
Now, Microsoft Corporation thinks the iPad Pro is just a little more than a companion device. Dan Laycock, a senior communications manager for Surface at Microsoft, used the recently concluded CES 2016 to take it out on the iPad Pro. He stated that the iPad Pro is nothing more than a companion device, unlike the Surface Pro which is more of a computer in the true sense.
MyTechBits stated that Microsoft has apprehended the opportunity to discuss the iPad Pro's shortcomings. The company even pointed out that equipped with all the features of a fully powered laptop, Surface Pro 4 is a great choice for people who value a premium on portability yet needs more productivity and performance out of their handsets.
As noted by the site, Apple has introduced the iPad Pro November a year ago, looking to open the iPad to creative professionals, such as graphic designers. On the other hand, the Surface Pro 4 was released back in October 2015, is now coming to India. This device is attached to the Type Cover through magnetic connect points and it can be easily detached and reattached to the display.
Different from its predecessor, the Surface Pro 4 is armed with a redesigned Surface Pen that packs 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity. Meanwhile, Apple has its Apple Pencil that provides a smooth working experience for artists and those working with images. Nevertheless, unlike Apple and Microsoft, this keyboard has a folio cover and has an optional Bluetooth stylus. To obtain the maximum potential of the gadgets, the keyboard is a must.
Meanwhile, WinBeta said on its article that it is really fun to watch two tech giants duke it out on the public stage. It is really recognizable that Microsoft has offered some valid points. The company made some very intelligent strategic moves, from pushing the solutions cross-platform to devote heavily in the cloud. Microsoft has also used the Surface line to highlight the benefits of Windows 10, which is already bearing some fruit as OEMs continue to manufacture its own innovative products to join Microsoft's own profitable hybrids.
Its Surface Pro 4 and Apple's iPad Pro will simultaneously go on sale in India creating a really good competition in the second largest tech market.
