Rise of the Tomb Raider Update: Crystal Dynamics' Brian Horton leaves company; Reason explained by director

By

The critically appraised Rise of the Tomb Raider has gone through many ups and downs in the past but still managed to get things together for the betterment of the game. Now that the title is consistently up and running, one of the people behind the success bids one last farewell as another door of opportunity may be opening up.

According to Techno Buffalo, Crystal Dynamics' Rise of the Tomb Raider has already established itself as one of the most admirable titles and continuities that the series has witnessed thus far. With such success backed up by a wonderful team, it may seem ironic and depressing to hear that the director of the game, Brian Horton, has been confirmed of departing from the company for reasons that he, himself, recently announced.

As reported by Uber Gizmo, Horton was quoted on his final message for the company, stating, "It's been a huge honor to be a part of the Tomb Raider franchise and the team at Crystal Dynamics. I've met fans from all over the world, both in person and online, to share in our love for the franchise and Lara Croft. After working on two amazing games, my family and I have decided to return to Southern California and start a new adventure.

As sad as I am to leave the team at Crystal, I'm excited to play their future games as a fan. Thanks again for the years of support and feedback and I hope to stay in touch with you all online."

In other related news, delivered by MCV UK, Rise of the Tomb Raider can be remembered of having numerous updates in the past and the latest is the most challenging one is the Endurance Mode. Many gamers have found the said update to be tricky and pushes them to a reasonable point to test their survival skills as Lara takes on challenges with a great scarcity in resources.

Though Brian Horton is cordially away to put on work for the Call of Duty franchise, his wonderful creation in the form of Rise of the Tomb Raider proves more than enough for him to leave a legacy to Crystal Dynamics, as fans would agree. Stay tuned for more news and updates on Rise of the Tomb Raider.
