During the recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016, ZTE has announced two new handsets, the Avid Plus and Grand X3. The Chinese tech company is also said to be continuing to enter the U.S market.
According to Christian Post, during the company's pre-conference event, two are announced and are also available for hands-on viewing at the ZTE booth. One of which is the Grand X3, the bigger among the two new phones armed with a 5.5-inch screen with 720p resolution. The device is engineered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor running at 1.3 GHz and is paired with 2 GB of RAM. As for its cameras, it is packed with an 8-megapixel rear-facing snapper with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter good for selfies.
The internal storage is available at 16 GB, which can be further expanded up to 64 GB via a microSD card. The ZTE Grand X3 which has a Dolby audio, comes pre-installed with Android Lollipop 5.1 and houses a decent 3,080 mAh battery.
On the other hand, Android Headlines cited some of the specifications that the XTE Avid Plus carry. This device arrives with a 5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It is engineered with a Qualcomm quad-core processor clocked at 1.1 GHz provides the brains, paired with 1GB of RAM. The device is armed with an 8 GB of internal memory that may be expanded another 32 GB via a microSD card.
When it comes to the camera, the device is armored with a 5-megapixel front shooter with autofocus and an LED flash. Meanwhile, a 2-megapixel FFC handle selfies and video chatting. Power is provided by a 2300 mAh capacity battery which the company claims to last up to 8 hours of talking and 350 hours in standby.
The ZTE Avid Plus measures 5.7-inches x 2.87-inches x 0.43-inches and weighs in at 5.8 ounces. It will be running Android 5.1 Lollipop as it comes out of the box.
As for the price, NDTV Gadgets stated that the Grand X3 has been priced at $129.99 that is approximately Rs. 8,650 MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price) without contract. This handset will be accessible via Cricket Wireless soon. The ZTE Avid Plus, on the other hand, will be available off-contract for $114.99 that is approximately Rs. 7,650. It will be obtainable at T-Mobile starting January 20 and will soon go on sale via MetroPCS.
The ZTE Grand X3 and Avid Plus are great options for the buyers who are looking for a budget friendly yet durable and reliable handset. Thee company is hoping for a favorable response especially with the U.S market.
