Mad scientist Dr. T’s Mega Crab event for mobile strategy game ‘Boom Beach’ goes live

By

The Mega Crab event advertised by the in-game character Dr. T for "Boom Beach" is now officially live. As noted by mobile game developer Supercell, this special event serves as an opportunity for gamers to earn tons of resources.

According to Creativity-Online, the studio promoted the event in late December through a series of online and television advertisements. The ads starred the game's villain Dr. T who then teased his upcoming super weapon.

On Jan. 15, Supercell unveiled the event featuring the villain's new gigantic robotic crab. But aside from the debut of the new enemy, the event, which will end on Jan. 22, will also be a way for gamers to earn high scores.

As noted by iDigital Times, the event features different stages that are all about attacking the various levels of the Mega Crab. The initial stages will award gamers with basic points such as 36,000 gold and 8,400 iron. But, as they progress through the upper stages, they can expect to receive bounties of up to 440,000 gold and 200,000 iron.

In addition, Supercell announced that players will be able to view the highest scoring gamers based on their local time zones starting on Jan. 18. This also includes the high scorers among their groups and the stages, International Business Times reported.

The studio also advised gamers to carefully plan out their strategies first before participating in the stages. Aside from the time limit, the style of attack of the Mega Crab will also change in each level. So, before taking on Dr. T's super weapon, gamers should think about their tactics and the types of troops that they will use.

"Boom Beach" first debuted in Canada on November of 2013 before releasing worldwide on March 26, 2014. It is currently available for the Android and iOS mobile platforms. Aside from this strategy-based mobile title, Supercell is also the developer behind "Clash of Clans" and "Hay Day."
