Sony Xperia Z3+ has been confirmed by Sony Mobile to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update anytime soon. The most exciting Android update is slated to come to the device before the month of February ends.
Sony Mobile revealed last year that Xperia Z3+, other wise known as Xperia Z4, will be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, as the Japanese tech giant unveiled on October 6, 2015 a list of its fortunate smartphones and tablets to receive the update through an official post on its site. The mobile department of the giant posted its roadmap for Marshmallow, following a series of revelations from a mobile carrier and phone manufacturers like Samsung, Google, Motorola, LG and HTC.
Sony fans can rest assured that their phones will be getting the update very soon. A Canadian carrier revealed late last week that it releasing the Marshmallow update to some Sony devices in February. This sparked new speculations of the supposed roll out in the United States. Sony, however, did not release any statement verifying the exact date of the roll out and that its fans should be looking after.
Meanwhile, some unfortunate Xperia devices are doomed to Android update's end of journey, as they were excluded from the list like Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and Z Ultra. Nevertheless, Sony, with the hopes to appease enraged fans, stated that the roadmap is subject to additions. In fact, it furthered that the company is working hard to take along the major Android software update to as many of its devices as possible and as quickly as it can.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will offer new features like Doze and Now on Tap and improvements in Android Pay, connectivity, user interface and controls, among others.
Doze is the new power saving feature that screens phone and puts into a deep sleep when idle. This way, power consumption is being controlled.
Google Now expands with Now on Tap. This addition suggests relevant information that users might use. This goes anything under the sun like restaurant, movie trailer, celebrity biography, mall location, etc.
Marshmallow also brings in easier and quicker direct share, simpler volume controls and a more comprehensive Android Pay.
