Motorola Moto Maxx (2014) Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Continues Despite Brand Being Phased Out

By

Motorola was just confirmed coming to an end as Lenovo announced, but Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will live on to its devices. Moto Maxx (2014) is officially one of the lucky smartphones to head down the Marshmallow aisle.

Moto Maxx (2014) is now heading to Android 6.0 Marshmallow update following a kickstart of Moto X Pure Edition (2015) and Moto G (2014) in other parts of the world. The smartphone had been reported since the past months to receive the upgrade before 2015 ends but did not push through.

Amid the gloomy end of Motorola's journey sees another exciting move, as the Moto Maxx (2014) device is receiving Marshmallow any time soon. In September 2015, it was already reported the Marshmallow is due last December.

However, the software support page of Motorola did not said it outright so the news remained a speculation. As of the moment, Moto Maxx (2014) now has pending partner support. This stage sees the formation of mutual agreement between the mobile phone manufacturer and the partner mobile networks. Since the soak test had been conducted to other devices already, release of the new build is expected not to take that long.
