'The Good Wife' Season 7 Spoilers: New Promo Hints Eli and Alicia’s Friendship Might Be Over; ‘Glee’ Alum Matthew Morrison Books Recurring Role

By

CBS has released the promo for the Jan. 17th installment of The Good Wife and it seems like Eli has officially lost the friendship of Alicia Florrick. Meanwhile, the legal drama has tapped Glee alum Matthew Morrison to play a recurring character in the back half of season seven.

On the heels of Eli’s confession about deleting Will’s romantic message to Alicia, The Good Wife will finally address how Alicia feels about Eli’s manipulating stunt. In a promo released through Youtube, the clip finds Alicia slamming the door on Eli’s desperate, apologetic face.

Alicia is clearly upset with Eli, and her banging that door is probably a sign that she had already decided to end her friendship with Peter’s henchman. Viewers have yet to tune in as to whether Alicia can still change her mind.

Elsewhere on the episode, Alicia will team-up with Cary as they defend a multi-million dollar lawsuit for a former client who is seeking ownership rights for his new music. Titled “Tracks”, the episode will also feature the guest appearance of Matthew Lillard as Alicia and Cary’s client, Rowby Canton.

The Futon Critic has shared the synopsis.

In other developments, The Good Wife has tapped Glee alum Matthew Morrison to play a recurring character in the remaining episodes of season seven.

Entertainment Weekly has learned that Morrison will play Connor Fox, a tough and brilliant assistant US attorney who imprisoned the last four Illinois governors. When viewers first see him, it will be palpable that he wouldn’t be displaying a warm vibe with the Florricks.

Morrison was known for his role on FOX’s Glee as glee club director, Mr. Schuester. He currently stars in Broadway’s Finding Neverland as J.M. Barrie.

The Good Wife stars Julianna Margulies, Matt Czuchry and Christine Baranski. It airs every Sunday at 9PM on CBS.
