The Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been released officially at about three months ago but only a handful of devices were reported to have obtained it. International Business Times gave the list of Samsung Galaxy handsets that are scheduled to receive the Android Marshmallow update. The Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2 devices from 2015 are reportedly going to obtain the Android 6.0 upgrade first. Meanwhile, the 2014 Samsung handsets that will also be given priority to receive Marshmallow firmware upgrade includes Galaxy Note 4, S5, Alpha, A8 and A7.

As for the Japanese tech giant Sony, the Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium, Z5 Compact, Z3+, Z4, C5 Ultra, C4, M5 and M4 Aqua from 2015 are going to be upgraded to the newest version soon. The next set of smartphones that will get Marshmallow operating system are Xperia Z3, Z3V, Z3 Compact, Z3 Tablet Compact, Z2 and Z2 Tablet. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra GPE from 2013 is also expected to receive Android M update soon.

For the LG handsets, the Android 6.0 upgrade is reserved to be rolled out first to its major smartphones from last year such as LG V10, G4, G Flex 2, and G4 Stylo. The update will be also widely made available for LG G3 users.

HTC also revealed the list of its devices that are scheduled for the Marshmallow update. The first batch of handsets from the Taiwanese tech company that will be getting the latest Android version include HTC One M9, HTC One E9, HTC One M9 +, HTC One E9+, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC One ME and HTC Desire 826.

Some of the devices like HTC One M8, HTC One M8 Eye, HTC One E8, HTC Desire 820 and HTC Desire 816 that were released in 2014 are also fortunate enough to obtain the Android M from the beginning of 2016.

For Motorola, its smartphones from 2015 such as Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto G, Droid Turbo 2 and Maxx 2 are the first batch to get upgraded to latest mobile operating system. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will also arrive to 2014 Motorola handsets like Moto X Pure Edition, Droid Turbo, Moto Maxx Moto Turbo, Moto G and Moto G 4G.

Bitbag cited that the newest update from Google will bring improved app permissions, revamped app drawer, support for fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C and Android Pay and greater volume controls to the aforementioned handsets once it receives the update.

As different smartphone manufacturers have given the list of the handsets that will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, users of the aforementioned devices will just have to wait for the concrete schedule of the release.
