According to Empire Online, rumours circulated online that two martial film actors are being considered for roles in the upcoming film as these are Jet Li and Tony Jaa. Both actors have been known for several works in the action genre for the past 10 years while Tony Jaa has been with Diesel in Fast and Furious 7. These two actors would be good addition to the franchise since the lead character is an extreme athlete that can give a good engagement fight scenes.
Moreover, not only guys were detailed in the update of the upcoming film as three actresses were being negotiated for a possible role with Xander Cage. The Hollywood Reporter claimed that three females have been rounded up as part of the female side in the film's cast. These individuals are reported to be Nina Dobrev, Deepika Padukone and Ruby Rose.

According to them, fans have shared scenes with Nina Dobrev as she's been with vampire series, The Vampire Diaries, for some quite time now while Ruby Rose gets TV exposure through the Orange Is The New Black. Last on the list is Bollywood actress, Deepika Pakudona who's being recruited by Vin Diesel as a huntress with former relations to the lead character, Xander Cage.
