‘Rambo 5’ Update: Film unlikely to happen; Stallone won’t play John Rambo anymore?

By

Reports say that action packed film franchise, Rambo, might not get the fifth film after lead actor disclosed information. Moreover, John Rambo won't be played by Sylvester Stallone anymore.

Years after the last Rambo hit the big screens, many speculated that it is over for the franchise. However, due to Sylvester Stallone's tweets last December 2014, other thought that the adventure will continue. According to Den of Geek, there were reports that detail Stallone is writing the sequel for Rambo: Last Blood. Rumours also escalated some possible plotlines. However, in their additional report, the military hero won't be backed since the actor has no more intention of reprising the role. In the interview, he said "The heart's willing, but the body says, 'Stay home!", as he added that it's time to leave it to someone else.

More to this, Stallone might be contented with the adventures of the characters where he starred. In reports of Variety, the 69-year old actor said that he's satisfied on how the 2008 film ended. Also, he's very content with how the Rambo film handled the Burmese situation and thinking that will be the last decent film of the action genre wherein he'll do it as a solo act. Moreover, the actor revealed that he has lost motivation and willingness after reaching the achievement that he's done in the last Rambo film.

In light of these news, the actor is also not included in the cast of TV series adaptation of the action film franchise. According to Movie Web, though many thought that he'll be casted as John Rambo in the Fox's TV series Rambo: New Blood, it turned out to be a disappointment. This means that the studio must find someone to play the father Rambo since the story will include a young Rambo. Due to this, many also speculate that Fox might not continue the series.

The Rambo 5 is the expected fifth film in the action adventure Rambo franchise started in 1982. Though the progress in the film was teased by Stallone last 2014, the actor also stated that he won't be returning for the role he's done many times before. Moreover, Fox is trying for a TV series based on the film hero but they still need to find an actor who'll be a good fit for John Rambo. Due to these, the Rambo film's probability decreases and meanwhile, TV Series, Rambo: New Blood is put on hold.
