Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update: Motorola Droid Turbo

By

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is officially bound to Droid Turbo devices of Motorola along with a host of new features and improvements. As revealed by the device manufacturer in October 2015, the update will hits the device early this year.

Droid Turbo owners both unlocked and carrier versions are lucky enough to have been included in Motorola's official list of Android 6.0 Marshmallow recipients. The model is one of the 2014 and 2015 smartphones of Motorola that made it to the cut. Most 2013 models were excluded from the list.

Aside from Droid Turbo, Marshmallow will also be available to Moto X (2014), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto G (2015), Moto G (2014), Moto E (2014), Moto Maxx (2014), Moto Turbo (2014) and Moto E (2015). The software has been rolled out to the unlocked versions of Moto X Pure Edition (2015) and Moto G (2015). Among the mobile carriers, T-Mobile has not updated Moto X Pure Edition (2015) yet while both AT&T and Sprint have not released the same update to Moto G (2015).

For the record, Motorola still has a long list of pending partner support for the Marshmallow update of its devices although it is one of the first manufacturers to release the update early.

In November last year, an executive of the Lenovo-owned company surprised the tech world that the new build was in full deployment to Moto X Pure Edition (2015) and Moto X (2014) which was expected kick-start to other devices as well.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow update comes in phases through push notifications. Make sure device is charged up to at least 50% to prevent power interruption and storage should have enough space.

The official build will feature improvements in mobile payment, web experience, battery management, user interface, and connectivity, among others.

Custom Chrome tabs is among the most popular features of Marshmallow. Click a link and a Chrome tab will automatically pop up. Users do not have to launch the browser itself.
