Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now just a few steps away from LG G4 smartphones under AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon after Sprint pre-empted the official roll out since December 2015. The new build brings in security patches and the updated emoji collection on top of Marshmallow's native features.
Major mobile operators in the United States like AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon Wireless are officially pushing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its versions of LG G4 which will happen very soon. The news came after Sprint kicked off first the release of Marshmallow to the device.
Just like Sprint, all units of these carriers will be receiving a solution to the several issues affecting the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, MMS and more.
AT&T
LG G4 units of AT&T are still running on Android 5.1 Lollipop and were confirmed already to skip the 5.1.1 version for Marshmallow. According to recent reports, AT&T is releasing the update to G4 before January comes to an end.
T-Mobile
Being the sole carrier in the US to issue a list of its devices outlining their software status, T-Mobile is busy in the lab developing the Marshmallow build for G4 along with a few other devices. The magenta carrier has already completed its update to Google's devices like Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 and Nexus 9.
Moreover, G4 units of T-Mobile are currently running on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
US Cellular
US Cellular is known for pushing new updates to older phones first. Its versions of LG G4 have not been updated to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop unlike other brands' handset devices. It was later confirmed that US Cellular is indeed releasing the Marshmallow software. However, there is no closure yet whether or not it is releasing the update this month.
Furthermore, G4 units of US Cellular are currently running on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Verizon Wireless
Verizon, the biggest mobile carrier in the US in terms of users, is also confirmed to be releasing the upgrade early in 2016. Its versions of G4 are currently running on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
