LG G4 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Release Update on AT&T

By

Major mobile carrier, AT&T, is reportedly on the verge of Android 6.0 Marshmallow software testing for its LG G4 smartphones following competitor Sprint's surprising roll out of the new build to its own versions of the device. Just as with Sprint's roll out, Marshmallow is expected to bring several bug fixes for the device.

LG G4 smartphones under AT&T are slated to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade very soon along with new features and bug fixes. Following the roll outs to various devices, Marshmallow is said to be released by AT&T to G4 units this month.

According to a report published by Gotta Be Mobile, security patches that have been released to G4 smartphones of Sprint will most likely come to AT&T's versions as well. The security patches are expected to solve bugs affecting the Bluetooth, MMS, Wi-Fi, batter, reboot and others.

The bug that has been affecting the battery is said to be draining too much power, as common among Android since the beginning of time and was at the peak with Lollipop. The battery drain is primarily caused by updating apps. One way to solve this is to wait for a couple of days for the device to settle and it will go back to its normal state.

Pointing the "logs" on the battery statistics settings, the bug is reported to consume about 20 percent of the power of G4. To solve this, go to Settings > About phone > Disable "Activity logs." This issue was first found in international versions of the device.

If doing these steps would not resolve the battery drain, check the reprobate apps by going to Settings > Battery. If it still does not solve the problem, consider resetting the device to factory settings by Settings > About device > Factory data reset.

Meanwhile, aside from G4 units of Sprint, the G Stylo models of the same mobile carrier have just been updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow as well.
