LG is reported to begin pushing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to V10 smartphones this month, following a series of release happening to G4 and G Stylo since December 2015. The upgrade will bring in several bug fixes on top of Marshmallow's native set of features.
LG V10 models will be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update very soon as it already began rolling out to some of its devices. As reported recently, V10 models are included in the priority list of the South Korean mobile phone manufacturer to receive the most sought-after software in Android history by far in the first quarter of 2016.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will first roll out to unlocked versions of the device before the versions under mobile carriers can take a hold of it. However, partner networks like Verizon Wireless, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T have not revealed yet the exact date of release of the software. Marshmallow is also expected to G3 handsets while G4 and G Stylo have not been completely updated.
Per changelog seen on G4 smartphones, the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow build will include a host of fixes for bugs affecting the MMS, battery, reboot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and others.
The MMS or picture messages encounter failure to send or delayed receipt of the content. All messaging apps like Google Hangouts, stock messenger and third-party apps are affected by the bug. In most cases, "Download and images never work."
With regards to the battery, "logd" found on the battery stats settings menu allegedly consume about 20 percent of power. This has been fixed in Korean and international versions of the device and will soon be fixing Sprint versions.
One way to solve this nevertheless is to disable activity logs: Settings > About phone > Disable "Activity logs." Another is to check rogue apps on the Settings menu. If it is still not the solution, users' last resort is to factory reset the device.
