LG G Stylo on T-Mobile & Virgin Mobile to Get Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update after Sprint

By

Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is expected to roll out on LG G Stylo devices of T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile following the release on Sprint versions. The device has been LG's surprise revelation to receive the update.

LG G Stylo, internationally called LG G4 Stylus, of T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile is heading to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow following Sprint's rollout since last week. The device was least expected to get an update as G3 has not been update yet.

Aside from G Stylo, G4 was first updated with Marshmallow in Poland by mid-December 2015 followed by Sprint in the US by the final week of the month.

T-Mobile's versions of G Stylo were last updated on September 28 with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, only two days after LG released the same update to the unlocked versions of the device.

The update shall come over the air (OTA) when device is connected to a Wi-Fi. Before downloading the update, make sure that the battery is charged up to at least 50 percent and device has enough memory storage. To manually check for the updater, go to Settings > About phone > Software updates.

While the official update had not been made available, custom ROMs were released based on Marshmallow for users to experience the software ahead.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring in bug fixes, new features and improvements in battery, Google Now, Android Pay, app permissions and volume controls, among others.

Google offers Doze-a battery saving feature to control the power consumption of idle apps by putting them to sleep. Google Now gives more accurate recommendations through the new Now on Tap. Android Pay expands now to more mobile payments for purchases.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been rolled out Google Nexus 5 (2013), Google Nexus 6 (2014), Google Nexus 7 (2013), Google Nexus 9 (2014), HTC One A9, Motorola Moto X Pure Edition (2015) and LG G4. Phones that debuted with Marshmallow out of the box include Google Nexus 5P, Nexus 6P and HTC One A9.
