'Zootopia' is an upcoming Disney animated film featuring anthropomorphic animals. The studio recently released its newest official trailer in time for the scheduled March 2016 release. It featured the voices of Ginnifer Goddwin and Jason Bateman among others.
According to The Verge, Disney released a new official trailer for its upcoming action-adventure animated film featuring an enormous cast of anthropomorphic animals. Some themes in Disney's newest project tackled gender inequality at the workplace, as seen in some scenes from the teaser showing Ginnifer Goodwin's police officer rabbit Judy Hopps being belittled for being a female mammal of small stature. Her authority as a law enforcer seemed to be hindered by the fact that she is adorable and stereotypically bunny-like.
The new film is set in the fictional bustling metropolis of Zootopia, where mammals - prey and predator - co-exist peacefully. According to Animation Magazine, Judy Hopps decides to enlist in the Zootopia Police Department and jumps at the opportunity to solve the case of a missing otter to prove herself worthy of being called a police officer. Unfortunately, life becomes more complicated as she is forced to collaborate with a sly fox to uncover a potentially dangerous plot.
Jason Bateman plays the fox con artist Nick Wilde alongside Goodwin. Idris Elba, Alan Tudyk, J.K. Simmons, Jenny Slate, Bonnie Hunt, Katie Lowes, Octavia Spencer, John DiMaggio and popular recording artist Shakira make up the rest of the cast.
According to USA Today, 'Zootopia' joins the large roster of upcoming animated films for the year 2016. 'Norm of North' and 'Kung Fu Panda 3' are slated for a January release, 'The Angry Birds Movie' is set for May, 'Finding Dory' follows in June, 'The Secret Life of Pets' follows in July, 'Storks' follows in September and finally 'Sing' ends the year in December.
'Zootopia' is an upcoming 3D animated action-adventure and comedy film featuring the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman among others. It is directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore based on a screenplay by Jared Bush and Phil Johnston. It is scheduled to be released on March 4, 2016.
