Moto G (Gen 3) Now ReceivingAndroid 6.0 Marshmallow Update in India

Motorola is fulfilling its promise of delivering the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its handsets. Recently, the company has brought the newest operating system update to Moto G 3rd Generation in India.

According to NDTV Gadgets, the company has started rolling out the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its Moto G (Gen 3) users in the US and Canada. As usual, the upgrade is about 2 GB in size and brings the software version of the smartphone to 24.11.25.en.US

The Marshmallow update is rolling out gradually, and it may take some time to reach users. The Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) owners can manually check for update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Update.

Furthermore, Seating Chair cited some of the features that will be removed and added upon upgrading the Moto G (Gen 3) handsets into Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The newest operating system will remove the Migrate and Assist apps. But there are tons of new features to look forward to, including just like the Now on Tap feature which brings users a shortcut way to access your apps and other information. Another new feature is the Doze mode that automatically puts the smartphone into a sleep state. Lastly, the App Standby mode which prevents battery from draining due to applications that aren't even opened frequently.

Times of India noted that the unit sports a 5-inch HD display with 720x1280 pixels resolution that is protected with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass three on top. It is engineered with a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 1GB/2GB of RAM and 8GB/16GB internal storagewhich can be further expanded using a microSD card.

The Moto G 3rd Gen comes with dual SIM functionality and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. It comes armed with a 13-megapxiel rear-facing camera that features LED flash, a 5-megapxiel front facing snapper good for selfies, a 2,470 mAh battery and connectivity options such as 4G, LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

With the Moto G 3rd Gen receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, more Motorola devices are expected to follow suit.
