'Agent Carter' Season 2 premieres Jan. 19th with 2-hour special episode; Madam Masque introduced as the new villain

Lyndsy Fonseca officially returns in "Agent Carter" Season 2 to reprise her character as Peggy's friend, Angie Martinelli. Meanwhile, the EPs introduced the newest villian, Madam Masque and the official synopsis for episode 1 has been revealed.

"How I Met Your Mother" alum Lyndsy Fonseca confirms that she is going to reprise her role in the Marvel series' 2nd installment. Fonseca will be reprising the character of Angie Martinelli, Peggy's (Hayley Atwell) friend and confidante from New York City, as mentioned on Fashion and Style.

On the other hand, executive producers Tara Butters and Chris Dingess reveal that "Agent Carter" Season 2 will be introducing a new character. According to IB Times, Madam Masque will be this season's villain and she will be portrayed by actress Wynn Everett.

As for the official plot for the premiere episode of the show's second season, Carter Matt notes, "Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Agent Carter journeys from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous - and bizarre - assignment yet. East Coast SSR Chief Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) sends Peggy to work with newly appointed West Coast SSR Chief Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) to explore a strange homicide involving a body that glows and emanates cold...

Upon her arrival, Peggy reunites with Howard Stark's (Dominic Cooper) butler and her loyal partner in crime, Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy), who welcomes her to the Hollywood life and sets her up at Stark's mansion. There, Peggy meets Anna (Lotte Verbeek), Jarvis' free - spirited and devoted wife to whom she takes an immediate liking."

Marvel's "Agent Carter" Season 2 is scheduled to premiere with a 2 - hour episode on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. exclusively on ABC. "Agent Carter" is an American TV series created by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
