Disney breaks silence, releases initial footage about the upcoming film 'Moana'

The studios that produced animated princes and princesses have just released the new footage that everyone would love to see. Below are the details about the forthcoming film and the teaser that showed how much we should expect.

Disney really knew how to spike those tingling sensors of creative animation with their audience after releasing the teaser of upcoming film, Moana. According to Comic Book Resources, the Walt Disney Animation Studios just debut their first footage from their upcoming feature film. This would be Disney's second animated film in their 2016 roster. The footage also include behind-the-scenes and offered glimpsed regarding the main character Moana, voiced by newcomer Auli'I Cravalho.

The studio's new feature film is a first in its history. As reported by Bustle, Moana would be the first Polynesian princess of Disney in addition to their previous princesses. Moreover, the character is an all around young woman, skilled navigator that is on an adventure to find the mystic island that is the key to save her family. The film is a new concept to Disney since they haven't explored the setting and culture before. Lastly, though Moana is most likely a princess, there haven't been talks of a prince but rather a companion.

As for the companion, Maui is a legendary demi-god that will accompany the girl along with her journey. The first footage released also added a bit of his scenes for the expecting fans. According to Rotoscopers, during the Disney's 2015 Disney Parks Christmas Parade, fans have spotted a new clip from the movie and it was centered on the demi-god Maui. The animated character is voiced by Dwayne Johnson.

Moana is the upcoming film of Disney that is centered on a journey of a Polynesian princess in the Pacific islands. The studio released footage regarding the film's progress. Previously, director Byron Howard tweeted a photo featuring Moana, Maui and their animal sidekicks, Pua the pig and Hei Hei the rooster. Mark Mancina, Opetaia Foa'i and Lin-Manuel Miranda are also featured to do the film's score. Moana is slated for a November 23, 2016 release.
