The Suzuki Gixxer 250 has recently caught the interest of motorcycle enthusiasts as leaked images surfaced online. The upcoming motorcycle from Suzuki is expected to be unveiled during the Auto Expo February this year.

Accroding to Indian Autos Blog, a Chinese website has uploaded the first ever spyshots of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 (Suzuki GSX R250 / Suzuki GW 250). The photos were taken at Haojue Changzhou factory of Suzuki in China, thus confirming the model's presence.

Based on some reports, it is expected to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida in February and launch in India the same year.

Moreover, there had been several media reports about a quarter-litre Gixxer and reputed publications had posted versions of the model with inspiration from the upcoming Suzuki GSX-R1000R. The spied model is likely to have some similarities to the GSX-R1000.

International Business Times added that the picture revealed the fully-faired SF version and the design is evidently inspired from the Gixxer SF 150. The design for the elder sibling is more muscular and angular and is reportedly visible with Suzuki's racing blue color. The instrument cluster and switch gears on the other hand, are similar to the 150cc model.

The Gixxer 250cc boasts of clip-on handle bars and split seats that make the motorcycle more premium and sporty. The picture also illustrates the motorcycle without graphics making it look neat and clean on the design front. The information on the powertrain is under the wraps for now.

Additionally, Motoroids added that what will power the Suzuki Gixxer 250 will have is still unknown, but there are few talks suggesting that it will carry a power plant similar to the Suzuki Inazuma, a 248 cc liquid-cooled inline-twin engine that makes 26 PS of power and 24 Nm of torque. The power is pushed to the wheels by a six-speed gearbox.

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 expected to be unveiled in the eyes of the public at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. And after its launch in the Indian market the motorcycle will go head to head with the upcoming Hero HX250R and Honda CBR 250R.
