There is a leaked video of the Xiaomi Mi 5 that has surfaced in the internet revealing that the upcoming device of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will have four variety of colors.
According to Android Headlines, Xiaomi has unveiled a ton of handsets this year, and yet, their most awaited device has still not been announced by the company. The Xiaomi Mi 4 was Xiaomi's 2014 flagship, and its descendant was expected to launch back in July. The Chinese smartphone maker, however, has opted to delay the launch because the company is waiting for the Snapdragon 820 to become available.
Despite this, the company's CEO stirred the fans' excitement saying he's been using the Mi 5 for quite a while now, and that the phone is really worth the wait. He has also stated that the company is in no rush to unveil the smartphone, and want to enhance it to the fullest before the company releases it.
There have been a number of Mi 5 rumors and leaks so far, and the device itself has leaked several times in the last couple of weeks, including the phone's supposed patent documents. All of those leaks proposed that the device will sport a rather thin physical home button. This seemed strange at first considering Xiaomi prefers capacitive buttons. But seeing the number of rumors, that option becomes quite possible.
Recently, a new set of Xiaomi Mi 5 images surfaced, and this time around it showed a Mi 5 render in various color options, including White, Black, Grey and Pink-colored handsets. It also seems like the Mi 5 will sport a metallic frame, and rather thin bezels on the sides.
International Business Times reported that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will come featuring a 5.2-inch screen and support for Quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Other rumors claim that it will be armed with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
It is also expected to be the first smartphones of 2016 to be engineered with the Snapdragon 820 chipset onboard, working hand-in-hand with a quad-core processor and Adreno 530 graphics. The SoC will deliver smooth performance as it will be paired with 4 GB of RAM.
When it comes to the camera, the main shooter of the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be of 16-mgapixel and the one expected on the front panel will be of 8-megapixel. Powered by a 3,030 mAh battery, it is expected to be released with the Android Marshmallow OS that has been modified with MIUI 7 software.
As for the price, MobiPicker predicts that the Mi 5 might be priced at CNY 1999 at around $309. And if a larger Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus happens to be released with 5.5 to 5.7-inch screen and 32GB eMMC storage, it might cost CNY 2500 at about $387.
These information are just based on leaked videos and are not yet confirmed by Xiaomi though. Confirmation from the Chinese tech giant regarding the device's variety of colors and other features are still awaited.
Stay tuned for more updates.
