Lenovo is set to release another handset on 5th of January. Expected to be the Lenovo K4 Note, the device will be unveiled a day ahead of the world-renowned CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2016 in Las Vegas.
According to Mercury News Daily, it is still unknown if Lenovo is planning to launch the K4 Note globally. This is because Lenovo does not usually advertise the specifications before the official release. But recently, the company had sent out invites for an event on January 5, which indicates that it is an opportunity to see the smartphone on that date.
International Business Times cited the upgraded features of Lenovo K3 Note that might be seen in the upcoming Lenovo K4 Note. First is the enhanced display; the K3 Note boasts a full-HD with 1920x1080 pixels screen resolution while the upcoming K4 Note is expected to be armed with similar resolution but with a new display technology, which can guarantee rich viewing experience.
Despite having full-HD display; Lenovo's K3 Note arrived with a generic plastic body, just like any other budget smartphone in the market. Now, based on some reports Lenovo will enhance the build quality in the K4 Note by incorporating a metal frame. This will provide a sturdy structure and also a sense of premium feel to the phone.
The Lenovo K4 Note will also have a higher RAM capacity compared to its predecessor. Lenovo fans requested the company to incorporate 3GB RAM in the upcoming phone. Recently, the company confirmed that the K4 Note will indeed house the said amount of RAM, 50% more than the K3 Note has.
It will also have a better security feature. In fact, Lenovo confirmed the device would indeed come with biometric technology. But it stopped short of revealing where the sensors would be placed. This will be either on back of the phone below the camera module or on the front panel's home button.
Lenovo also confirmed that the K4 Note will boast NFC (Near Field Communication), the ultimate short-range data transfer technology. This is a faster version of Bluetooth, wherein users just have to bring two devices close to each other and tap to transfer the data between the two.
Additionally, there are also talks saying that the K4 Note will come with 32GB inbuilt storage, double that of its predecessor. The K3 Note was shipped with 16 GB, having the option to expand up to 32 GB.
With the fingerprint sensor and NFC, Lenovo K4 Note is generally a future-proof device. Its owners will be able to read electronic tags and they can also make contact-less cash transfer using the Android Pay feature.
Meanwhile, Seating Chair stated that the Lenovo K3 Note has been a great success for the company. This is because the device has managed to sell more than 1.2 million units in India in a span of 6 months.
Would its predecessor be able to surpass that achievement? With a much improved and enhanced features, it is possible for the upcoming Lenovo K4 Note to break the sales record of the older version.
