‘Divergent: Allegiant’ Updates: Shailene Woodley, Theo James embrace in newly released character posters

'Divergent: Allegiant' released its latest character posters featuring Shailene Woodley and Theo James locked in an intense embrace. The special Twitter campaign that preceded the unveiling generated over 58,000 in mentions all over the social media website.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Woodley and James are locked in an intense embrace in Lionsgate's newly released character posters. The posters, unveiled through Twitter, showed Woodley and James as Beatrice 'Tris' Prior and Tobias 'Four' Eaton respectively.

Lionsgate released both posters through a special Twitter campaign #WeAreAllegiant giving one lucky fan the chance to debut the posters through their own social media account. According to Comingsoon.net, the hashtag campaign became viral and generated over 58,000 mentions on the site. User @dauntlessrebel was chosen for the promotional release on her own Twitter account.

One poster shows Woodley's worried countenance upfront and captioned, "I become better, sharper, everytime I touch him." The other shows James' equally distraught expression and captioned, "The person you became with her is worth being".

Woodley and James will return as the cinematic series' lead protagonists. Other members of the ensemble cast include Miles Teller, Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer, Zoe Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Bill Skarsgard and Nadia Hilker. Jeff Daniels is the latest Hollywood star to join the cast as the villainous David.

According to UPI, 'Divergent: Allegiant' will be the first film to be released in the back-to-back installment based on Veronica Roth's last book in her best-selling trilogy. The upcoming film will feature Tris and Four venturing beyond the walls of post-apocalyptic Chicago - the only home they know - only to be taken into custody by a mysterious agency known as the Bureau of Genetic Welfare.

'Divergent: Allegiant' is an upcoming science-fiction action film directed by Robert Schwentke. It is scheduled to be released on March 18, 2016 in the United States. It follows the second film in the cinematic series, 'Divergent: Insurgent', released last March 20, 2015.
