Thor: Ragnarok (2017): Chris Hemsworth comeback confirmed; Cate Blanchett rumored to join cast

With the long list of Marvel movies to be out on the following years, there is more yet to come. One that fans could look out for is the third installment of the movie of the Asgardian god of thunder: Thor. The movie is entitled as "Thor: Ragnarök" which is set to be released on 2017. Fans can rejoice as Chris Hemsworth will still play the titular role.

In this movie, Cheat Sheet shared that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will get wider as they deal with the world of Asgards. Cheat sheet also stated based on the film's title, Thor: Ragnarök may include apocalyptic events on its plot. As the term Ragnarök means the death of the many gods in Norse mythology.

On the other hand, additional casts in the movie is foreseen. Among these casts, Oscar- winner Cate Blanchett is the most rumored to join the casts of Thor: Ragnarök. Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Blanchett is on the final talks with the management regarding her being part of the film. However, what character she will play is still a mystery. But according still to Hollywood Reporter, sources have said that Marvel is looking for an actress that will play a "bad-ass" role in the film.

Furthermore, Hollywood Reporter have also stated that Stephany Folsom will be the script writer while Taika Watiti will be the director. Variety also reports that Mark Ruffalo and Tom Hiddleston will be part of the movie playing as The Hulk and Loki respectively.

Fans may delight as the major roles from Thor: Ragnarök will be reprised again by their original actors. Hemsworth with the titular role of Thor, Hiddleston as Loki, brother of Thor, and Ruffalo as The Hulk. Add to these big names of actors is the award winning Blanchett who would most probably join the cast. Thor: Ragnarök is expected to be released by 2017 directed by Watiti.
