The battle is not over for Volkswagen. Department of Justice said criminal investigation on the company's misconduct is still ongoing, while the company will also face similar investigation in other countries.
Volkswagen reportedly reached an agreement to settle the dieselgate scandal before the court-appointed deadline. A source close to the agreement said that VW has reached a settlement to avoid U.S. federal trial over the summer.
