In an effort to launch criminal investigations of Americans, a secretive U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is funneling information information from intelligence intercepts, wiretaps, informants and a large database to authorities.
Nathan Luis Campbell is the main suspect for recklessly driving his black Dodge Avenger through a crowded Venice Beach on Saturday, which killed an Italian newlywed and injured 16 people. The 38-year-old Campbell did not have an address on record, not a state's driver's license. There was no evidence to suggest that he was working at the time. Campbell turned himself into the police station several hours after the deadly episode on Saturday.

His opening statements lasted less than two minutes, adding that, "witnesses will testify that war is an ugly thing. Death, destruction and devastation are felt from both sides, from friend and foe. Evidence from this trial will only show one side. I was on the wrong side, but I switched sides."
