Ronell Wilson, a New York City street gang member, was convicted and sentenced to death for the second time on Wednesday for the execution-style killings of two undercover detectives in 2003. Wilson's original death sentence had been overturned in a long-drawn case that also involved an illicit affair with a prison guard, which resulted in fathering her child.

Kucherena, who helped Snowden file his bid for temporary asylum in the country on July 16, hand delivered documentation that allowed him to clear immigration at the airport.
Federal prosecutors in New York charged Mokhtar Belmokhtar, an al-Qaeda Islamist currently at large, with crimes related to an attack on a gas facility in Algeria earlier this year that left 37 hostages dead.
